John Welch

John Welch (john.welch@mcdean.com) is the author of this blog. He is an arc flash loss prevention expert and engineer specializing in critical power and energy systems.

His engineering and construction expertise includes power backup systems for mission critical applications in government and business facilities, data centers and healthcare facilities.

In addition, John has extensive experience and knowledge in UPS maintenance and service, arc flash studies and process control, circuit breaker testing, thermography, grounding and renewable green energy projects.

The author of several articles and papers on critical power and sustainable energy, John has a M.S. degree in industrial operations from Lawrence Technological University and a B.S. in electronic engineering from DeVry Technological University. He also holds a journeyman electrician’s license and is certified in gas engine technology.
